in spending cuts, this discussion about tax increases is just foley. it is absolutely ridiculous. harry reid said that the boehner mr. was dead on arrival. it wasn't going to pass the senate anyway. so, boehner didn't get the support of his members, enough at least and it would have been a vote for not because the senator would have said thanks, no thanks. we are going to have the leverage and we will shove whatever you want down your throats whether you like it or not. the whole situation was kind of ridiculous in the beginning. >> instead of plan b it was sort of plan b.s. it was dead on arrival. it wasn't a bold plan. you need to from o'reilly factor bold plan with fresh faces. personally do i think we need to look at new leadership. john boehner has done a fine job but we have to do some changes. we have to have changes. we have omake new face and we have to have different language. let's face it the last four years the team has been playing together. the folks have not been able to get along. nothing is happening in washington, d.c. it's gridlock. so we have got to change something. we

. great to hear harry reid on this. the last time i checked the do so called proposal that a he put forth in july didn't really receive any support and only dealt with tax increases. it wasn't a comprehensive deal and didn't involve real spending cuts it was just raise tax and it went no where. for him to blame republicans, come on. >> don't forget, it has been 13 hyundais since hair arery reid even passed a budget out of the united states senate. we don't even know what the united states senators stand for in terms of the budget debate. the same thing on taxes. the house actually passed a lot of people don't know that earlier this year the house passed a bill to extend all of the bush era tax cuts for another year until resolve the issue. the senate again didn't act on that. the grave yard of the items are the united states senate. the other thing interesting harry reid said the president has his door open to any negotiating in any kind of deal that the republicans may offer. they put revenues on the table which a lot of conservatives weren't happy with. now, talking about raising tax ra

-calling. harry reid called boehner a dictator. i find it strange because they don't call actual dick tears dictators. they never call chavez or castro a dictator but they will call boehner a dictator. are they going to start acting like adults soon. >> the house has done their job. it's ironic to me that harry reid goes after john boehner. the house of representatives did this months ago which is when it should have been done. extended the rates. replaced the across the board cuts with responsible reductions in spending. and, yet, here the senate is pointing the finger at the house of representatives. the speaker is right to say it's up to the senate. and this is where it's going to have to happen. >> all right, senator. thanks at lot. next on the run down do both parties actually want to go over the fiscal cliff to save political face? we'll debate it the state department officials out of their jobs after the benghazi terrorist attack are reportedly still on the payroll. we have details moments away. >> greg: continuing with top story tonight. with days to go. both parties want it to go o

this time around the idea that the president and harry reid in the senate don't have enormous power to get a deal done or stay here. don't go away for the holidays. maybe go to camp david like push did only 8 times and actually get the job done for the american people it's convenient to say it's the tea party fault i am not here to scapegoat then. americans though we have three branches of government. nothing can get passed unless the senate and house both pass bills, right? a tea party is a part of the equation. they do not have the amount of influence that they had before. but they are certainly are necessary to come to some sort of deal here if we're going to get anything done before january 1. i think the bottom line is this: we do not have a short-term deficit crisis. i agree with katrina on that point. we have a revenue problem. and a growth problem. we have millions of americans out of work. that. >> laura: zerlina, you have to be better at math than that. >> i'm very good at math, actually. >> laura: 90% tax rate on the upper income level on the united states is a drop in the buck
